R&D and manufacturing base established

In 1956, White Dove Abrasives Company (WHITE DOVE) was established, which was one of the 156 key construction projects during the national "First Five-Year Plan" period.
In 1956, Chengdu Tool Research Institute (CTRI) was established as the only comprehensive scientific research institution in the tool industry in China.
In 1958, Zhengzhou Research Institute for Abrasives & Grinding (ZZSM) was established, as the only comprehensive research institute in abrasives industry.
In 1958, Luoyang Bearing Research Institute (ZYS) was established, as a national first-class comprehensive research institute in bearing industry.

In 1960, ZYS successfully developed the first batch of A23 precision instrument bearings, four types of high temperature and high speed A-level precision bearings.
In 1963, ZZSM successfully created China's first synthetic diamond.
In 1966, ZZSM successfully created China's first man-made cubic boron nitride.
Afterwards, ZZSM successively created a series of super material products, industry-specific production and testing equipment and instruments, which filled the domestic gap.
